All
of our drivers are retirees. We call it the "antique tours with the
antique drivers" because we figure if you are over 50, you are an
antique. Especially when driving one of the antique Jeeps. And if we
drive the road correctly we should rock you more than bounce you.
We don't bounce, we rock...
CRJT is dedicated to giving our customers the best tour experience possible -- safely, courteously and knowledgeably. As a business CRJT has not changed its rates appreciably since its founding, thus drivers do not make much salary. As retirees our goal is to supplement our retirement incomes doing something we love. If your tour guide is safe, courteous, knowledgeable and at least a little entertaining we encourage you to leave a tip. |

Smitty Glenn
Smith and his wife Patsy own Crystal River Jeep Tours. Born in Golden,
Colorado he is native to the mountains. Smitty learned how to drive on
mountain roads and has been driving Jeep tours since 2006. Smitty
restores the antique Jeeps we use. He retired in 2004 with 24 years of
US Government service, now he's working on his next career. Smittys
goal is to keep the creditors from the door, and if he can restore
another Jeep in the process it's been a good year. |
|
T.G. Heard T.G. Heard has been a CRJT driver since 2008. You'll find TG on the road at the end of the season in September, starched and ironed. TG is a native Texican, but we won't hold that against him. TG retired from Western Union and USDA. |
|
Chuck Moore Chuck Moore started driving for CRJT in 2009. He was born in California but calls Texas home, where he retired from the oil business. His parents are native to Colorado, and his mothers family are 3 generation pioneers. Chuck has become expert on the Mill Site and the history of Marble. Chuck and Smitty are cousins. |
|
Uncle Bob Uncle Bob Provost started with CRJT in 2009. He plans to drive the entire season in 2010. He says driving tours is not work, he knows what work is. Bob is a retired construction contractor and has been a resident in Marble for many, many years. No one ever really retires. Bob chops and sells firewood in his copious spare time. |
|
Steve Fowler Steve Fowler is another Colorado native. He grew up in Colorado Springs. He's been a CRJT driver since 2009. Steve retired after many hard years with the US Postal Service in Denver. Steve and his wife Cyndi are year-round residents of Marble. Steve was once a advertising model for cigarettes. Thus his nickname, Salem. |
|
Patsy Smith Although not a driver Patsy is the backbone of the CRJT operation. Answering the phone, taking reservations, and keeping the books. She keeps us on the straight and narrow. |
